Barb Schild started as a teaching assistant at the Genesee Community Charter School in August, 2010. Prior to the Genesee Community Charter School, she worked for 10 years in Human Resources for a utility company near New York City. After this, Mrs. Schild started a family and began her own child-care service. This experience prompted Mrs. Schild to become a teaching Assistant and she worked for 15 years as an elementary teaching assistant in the Nyack School District. Mrs. Schild has a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Management (Human Resources) with a minor in Labor Relations from Shippensburg University.
Mrs. Schild has two grown children. Her daughter, Corinne, is currently obtaining her Ph.D. in Chicago, and her son, Dean, is an EMT in Hawaii. One of her FAVORITE hobbies is to visit them, as well as travel to other places. She has had the opportunity to visit many wonderful and exciting places in the world. Mrs. Schild loves to read and knit, and is addicted to Sudoku. She states, “I am also a closet piano player, but am too shy to play for others.”
