GCCS Will Move to Remote Learning on May 14, 2021

We want to inform you that since Tuesday, we have learned of six additional positive cases of COVID-19. These cases were all students.  Some were last in the building Thursday, May 13th while others were last in the building on Tuesday, May 11th.  Not all students were symptomatic and were discovered through contact tracing or precautionary testing by families.  We have notified the Monroe County Department of Health and they are continuing contact tracing.  We will work with them closely to identify any other students of concern and they will follow up with any families who we believe may have been exposed.  Per privacy guidelines, no additional personally identifying information can be shared about the individuals who tested positive.

This week we have a total of 9 known positive cases making our current community infection rate 3.3%.  However, we have found that almost all cases are from one class cohort and one bus.

To continue with collaboration with the Monroe County Department of Health and conduct further contact tracing, we are moving to remote learning for Friday, May 14th, 2021.  We will communicate with families over the weekend IF we decide to continue remote learning for all or some grades next week.

Families should look for emails with additional information or call the school with any questions.
