  • Opened in 2001
  • K – 6th grade charter school
  • Tuition-free public school authorized by the New York State Board of Regents
  • Approximately 224 students selected by random lottery
  • Located on the campus of the Rochester Museum & Science Center

In the Classroom

  • One classroom per grade level with up to 32 students
  • Two teachers and one teaching assistant per classroom
  • Classes are “looped”: each class will have the same teaching team for 2 consecutive grade levels (K & 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 4th & 5th) until they reach 6th grade, which has a stand-alone teaching team.
  • Music, Visual Art, and Physical Expedition (Dance & Movement) classes

  • Social Worker

  • Special Education Providers (provided by student’s district of residence)
