Food Service

As part of our caring community commitment, we serve a “family style” lunch in the classrooms. All students participate in the set up, serving, and clean up of the meal. Students who bring lunch from home are expected to participate, too. Teachers eat with the students, modeling appropriate manners and conversation.

Students who qualify for free or reduced price lunch are enrolled in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s school meal program. We encourage all families to apply and take advantage of this program. Students who do not qualify for the USDA program may purchase meals at school. GCCS partners with Julia K Caters to provide breakfast and lunch for GCCS students.  Menus are made available at least one week prior to allow families to plan their budgets. Please advise the main office of any special diet needs or food allergies.

*Recent Message about Julia K Caters:  Just like so many other businesses right now, our wonderful catering service is experiencing supply shortages and delivery delays which are out of their control.  Sometimes this results in a last minute food substitution (which is different than what was printed on the menu).  Thank you for your understanding as we work to help students manage these occasional changes and disappointments when necessary.

Meal Shaming Policy

GCCS provides access to nutritious no- and low-cost meals for all families without judgement or stigmatizing students.  The entire Meal Shaming Policy can be found by clicking here.

Free/Reduced Meals Application

Families are welcome to fill out this application to determine if they qualify for free or reduced-priced meals.  Please fill out the application and return it to the GCCS Main Office.

Wellness Policy

Students’ health and wellness are equally as important to our school’s philosophy as the students’ academic achievement.  GCCS has a Wellness Policy that can be found here.
